Remarks Regarding Passports Issuance:

  • All completed passport applications from The Hague are sent to the General Consulate in Frankfurt for processing. Passports are issued only after approval from Yemen's main issuance center.
  • The consulate is not responsible for delays due to incomplete applications.
  • Processing takes 30 to 90 days, and applicants should ensure all information is accurate.
  • Requests for cancellation, document returns, or fee refunds are accepted, though refunds exclude administrative fees and may take time.

To issue a new Yemeni passport

  • For unmarried applicants, include a copy of the father’s passport or ID.
  • To request a change of birth date or place in a Yemeni passport, you need to submit a written request, a copy of your birth certificate, Yemeni ID, family book, and other Yemeni documents such as educational certificates or marriage license
  • For surname or occupation changes, specific documents like court rulings or business records are required
  • To request a change in profession on a Yemeni passport, you need to submit a copy of your university degree and a copy of your employment contract. For specific professions, such as marketing specialist, purchasing manager, or sales representative, both the degree and the contract are required.
  • To request a change in profession to "businessman" or "businesswoman" on a Yemeni passport, you must submit the following documents: a commercial registration certificate, a tax card, and a capital budget statement.
  • When requesting a change of profession to "student," "employee," "worker," or "housewife" on a Yemeni passport, no additional documents are required.

To issue a replacement for a damaged Yemeni passport

  • When submitting a written declaration for a replacement passport due to damage, it must include:
    1) detailed reasons for the damage.
    2) information on torn or removed pages, including any photographed entry/exit stamps or visas (if available).
    3) a signature and fingerprint on the written declaration.

  • The damaged passport that is being replaced must be attached when applying for a replacement.
  • A copy of the damaged passport must be attached along with the application for a replacement passport.

  • Attach a copy of the residency (front and back).

To issue a replacement for a lost Yemeni passport

  • You must attach the original police report for the lost passport, which must include the number of the lost passport. Without the passport number, the report will not be accepted.
  • Attach 3 recent colored photos with a white background, meeting the required specifications
  • You must attach a copy of the lost passport, or at least a copy of the passport's data page, when applying for a replacement.
  • If a copy of the lost passport is unavailable, the applicant can request a copy of the data page from the previous issuing authority.
  • To replace a lost Yemeni passport, you need to provide copies of three Yemeni documents, such as:
    - A copy of the birth certificate.
    - A copy of the Yemeni ID card.
    - A copy of the family book.
    - Any other Yemeni documents, such as educational certificates, driver's license, or marriage registration.
  • If the three required documents are unavailable, the applicant must submit a written declaration explaining the unavailability of the required documents.
  • Attach a copy of the residency (front and back).
  • A receipt of the fees paid to the Yemeni consulates in Frankfurt and The Hague must be attached when submitting your passport application.
  • If the passport to be renewed is being held by authorities in the host country, an official letter or memorandum from the authorities must be provided, explaining the reasons for retaining the passport and confirming whether it will not be returned to the citizen

To issue a new passport for students

Required specifications for the personal photo
  • The photo size must be 60mm width by 40mm height (6x4 cm).
  • The background should be plain white.
  • The entire face and part or all of the shoulders must be visible.
  • The photo should not be too close to the head or too far; the face height should be approximately 32-36mm.
  • The consulate provides examples of acceptable (✔) and unacceptable (〤) photos, based on head covering, facial expressions, and head position.
